Dr. Michelle Patterson received her PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of British Columbia and obtained 3 years of additional training at Yale University. She is registered with the College of Psychologists of BC and has over 12 years of training and experience. In addition to her private practice, Dr. Patterson is currently an Adjunct Professor at Simon Fraser University. She brings a warm, compassionate approach to working with adults and adolescents to address a range of concerns, including:
Dr. Patterson provides a confidential and respectful environment for exploring and resolving personal concerns. She offers a variety of short- and long-term therapy options, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which is very effective for the treatment of anxiety, depression and trauma. She takes a very active, here-and-now approach and works with clients to develop coping skills and greater awareness of emotions, thoughts and motivations underlying behaviour. She also provides comprehensive couples and relationship therapy services, including issues related to pregnancy, parenting and parent-child attachment.
